Unreasonable Institute Challenges Its 45 Finalists to Raise $200,000 from 1 Million People in 50 Days
More than 300 entrepreneurs from over 60 countries vied for the 25 slots available to attend the 2011 UnreasonableInstitutethat takes place next June in Boulder, Colorado. After conducting over 100 interviews, the Unreasonable team has narrowed it down to 45 exceptional finalists. One of these finalists is Prospéritas Microfinanzas, the only Colombian company in the competition.
Now, in a true test of their entrepreneurial mettle, each of these finalists faces one final challenge before becoming Unreasonable Fellows: galvanizing the globe to raise the USD 8000 it costs to attend the program. The first 25 finalists to raise USD 8000 will be chosen to attend and the fundraising takes place in an online platform called the “marketplace”. At the marketplace, finalists are forced to mobilize the support of hundreds of people from around the world. All finalists represent businesses whose mission is to solve social and environmental problems in a self-sustainable and globally scalable manner.
